What a year 2009 has been for this new kid on the block. Many have sat back and watched as this enormous space has morphed into the favorite spot for Miami professionals and a niche sector of Miami’s elite. Whether the place top executives have selected to sip happy hour cocktails and others to dance away their stresses Mia is now recognized after being open a few short months as the “place to be” in South Florida. One might say it’s because the venue is conveniently segmented into indoor-outdoor, restaurant and club without the patron ever feeling it.
The flow at MIA is so seamless and unique that they are truly able to cater to the foodie or the group of couples wanting to paint the town red for one evening. Taking into consideration what they have created in such a brief time, the management team and ownership of Mia sought to end 2009 with a true bang. The MIA Girl Contest which will take place on December 30, 2009 at 11:00PM and their official New Year’s Eve Ball on December 31, 2009 commencing with dinner seating since 7:00PM. 48 hours of eye-catching “dazzle” and tantalizing festivities that will set tongues wagging and many posted pictures on Face Book™.
The only contest of its type to take place in Miami, the MIA Girl search will identify some of the most beautiful women in South Florida. This initiative was created as a way to showcase some of the loveliest faces that have graced the venue, while welcoming them back for future visits. Keeping true to a commitment to beauty, fashion, entertainment and cultural diversity, the MIA Girl search incorporated a series of events, all leading up to the main event on December 30th.
MIA at Biscayne will not only spotlight these gorgeous ladies. But, they will also be rewarded. In true MIA “style” these ladies will receive treatment unlike any other venue. The top 100 qualified ladies in the competition will receive MIA Girl Membership privileges, for the period of a year.
The MIA GIRL will represent the venue as it's official spokes model, meaning the winner will possess a delightful mix of what MIA represents. The “mix” is a perfect blend consisting of a great image, outgoing personality and a “spice” that differentiates her from all others. But we saved the best for last. Sponsored by Russian Standard Vodka and Venue Magazine, the MIA Girl-first prize winner will leave the venue with 10K USD. What a way to close out 2009!
Regarding the end of year, MIA will be the most perfect venue to celebrate at this December 31st. Not only do the amenities promise comfort and style, but the location is undoubtedly the perfect one to watch Miami fireworks and the classic “Orange drop.” This red carpet soiree is the only one of its type. From non-stop live performances, five DJs, sit down dinner, open bar, cigars, and so much more, this fete is definitely worth dressing up for. But not to stop there, tradition has not been forgotten at MIA. He began in the late 80’s playing at neighborhood parties, where he honed his skills, later becoming a regular guest DJ at some of New York's most notorious venues such as Red Zone, Palladium, The World, Traxs and Save the Robots. In recent years, Morel has held headline residencies in many renowned European nightclubs such as Privilege (Ibiza), Cocoon Club (Germany) and The Mad (Switzerland) just to name a few.
Morel has also appeared as a guest DJ in all of the top Ibiza clubs such as Pacha, Amnesia, El Divino and Space.
