Vanessa Brito is the Director of Marketing & Communications for the Metropolitan Center. She has her B.A. and M.A. in Political Science from Florida International University. Currently, Vanessa serves as the liaison between the Metropolitan Center and media representatives at all levels. She is responsible for organizing the quarterly MetroForum Breakfast Series and other events the Metropolitan Center hosts and/or sponsors. Vanessa often represents the Metropolitan Center as a member of the Miami-Dade County League of Cities, the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce, and the Miami-Dade County Climate Change Task Force. She serves as the FIU Project Manager for the Miami-Dade County Metropolitan Planning Organization quarterly and annual newsletters as well their Citizen's Guide to Transportation. Ms. Brito has also served as the Project Manager for the 2006, 2007, and 2008 City of Miami EITC Outreach Campaigns, the 2006 Broward County Exit Poll on Hispanic Voter Accessibility, the 2006 Transportation Survey for the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce's 2006 Transportation Summit, and the 2007 Miami-Dade Expressway Authority Market Analysis. Vanessa takes the lead on proposal writing and editing for the Metropolitan Center. Vanessa continues to assist the Director with special projects related to public opinion and survey research.
I sit on the Miami-Dade Equal Opportunity Board and represent FIU on the Miami-Dade League of Cities and Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce. In addition, I contribute to the Miami.com entertainment offset of the Miami Herald as a freelance writer on GLBT events.
