Who's your neighbor?

Unfortunately the PublixDirect service died long ago, and since moving downtown I have quickly realized how much of a pain it is to make any sort of substantial trip to the grocery store.

I saw www.beachgroceries.com while watching a movie at the beach, and they deliver to downtown. They used to have a minimum order of $100, but not anymore. In fact over $195 there's no fee. I found the prices to be a bit high, usually at least a dollar more than what Publix charges (in Brickell anyway).

Then I decided to google and came across www.foodxpressdelivery.com. It's a shop service that goes to whatever store you want, buys everything, and delivers. The fee for delivery is certainly affordable, (delivery depends on # of items) and one could even take advantage of "store brands" like Publix, Winn-Dixie, etc. I think the savings in using these brands probably covers half of the delivery. The website is a little simplistic, and ordering isn't as easy as Beach Groceries. They accept CC and cash at your door, and payment is whenever they deliver.

Just wanted to share the two options I found myself, I don't have a stake in either one.
Has anyone had good or bad experiences with these services?
Any others to consider?

Wow, thanks for posting! I'm definitely going to check these out. One of the drawbacks of living in a condo is having to carry groceries through the parking garage, up the elevator, and into your unit (sometimes having to make several trips). The valet luggage carts are rarely available.
