Join Eco-historian Frank Schena and explore Simpson Park, named after Dr. Charles Torrey Simpson. The park is a unique remnant of a tropical hardwood forest once known as Brickell Hammock, which extended along Biscayne Bay from the Miami River to Coconut Grove. One of the oldest in South Florida, the park was partly owned by William Brickell. Nearly a century ago, the city bought the land and originally called it Jungle Park. Meeting point is at the entrance at 15th Road and South Miami Avenue near the Financial District Metromover stop.
