Event Description

The Festival is a five-day event showcasing films based on environmental issues of local and global concern. The event, taking place from October 19th to the 23rd, is being organized by ECOMB, in partnership with the Miami Beach Cinematheque, CNBC6 and The Society of Environmental Journalists. The Festival will feature some of the most contemporary environmental documentaries, addressing issues of urgent environmental importance.

In order to ensure a greener future for generations to come, we, as individuals, must attempt to make some significant changes, and form a balance that is both sustainable and practical. The South Florida Environmental Film Festival aims to educate individuals using visual arts, and inspire them to make such changes and become advocates for the environmentalist cause in their daily lives.

Mother: Caring for 8 Billion

Breaking a 40-year taboo, this brings to light an issue that silently fuels our most pressing environmental, humanitarian and social crises - population growth. The population is turning 7 billion in 2011, a startling seven-fold increase since the first billion occurred 200 years ago.
