Mia Girl Contest- Preliminary 1 for all aspiring Models

The Mia Girl contest taking place February 19, 2011, has generated a lot of excitement. The contest now in its second year is bigger and better as the winner will receive a $10,000 dollar grand prize along with a professional modeling contract and a wide variety of additional prizes. 11 other finalists will receive a $1000 prize each, their photographs featured on the Mia website and a series of other opportunities. To add to the visibility she will receive, the winner will be part of a dynamic community outreach program that was announced last month. Co-hosted by Aubrey Aquino (WSVN personality/On The Flip Side host) the very first preliminary event will take place this Friday, December 17, 2010 at 9:00PM.  All ladies interested in participating in the contest can still apply online and in person and are encouraged to attend.

The most unique detail about the 2011 Mia Girl effort will be the official appearances the Mia Girl winner will make at 12 non-profit efforts to include but not limited to collaborations with Voices for Children, Camillus House, Care Resource, Neat Stuff for Kids, Children’s Home Society, The Big Blue and You Foundation, Shnebly’s Seed 2 Fork Foundation, Miami Children’s Hospital Foundation, and other organizations. Mia at Biscayne announced that the venue will host twelve events for the twelve organizations announced last month at a press event held at the venue.

Gearing up for the 2nd annual Mia Girl contest, Mia at Biscayne will reiterate a commitment of recognizing the best in beauty, fashion, and diversity in South Florida. The contest features a series of events which culminates to a grand finale where one extraordinary young woman who exemplifies grace, positivity, and social consciousness is chosen to be the 2011 Mia Girl Spokes Model.

Contestants for the Mia Model Search will be judged by both the general public as well as a panel of judges which will be comprised of professionals from the media, entertainment, fashion, health and beauty industries.  The top finalists are then invited to Mia to attend four semi-final events where they are judged based on a photo review, onstage interview and “catwalk” runway presentation. All eleven finalists are guaranteed cash winnings and exposure which will certainly catapult the aspiring model/actresses to a higher level. The task of choosing these ladies will be that of the public through the voting system (online) and a panel of judges comprised of entertainment industry professionals and celebrities.

Mia at Biscayne’s goal is to find that one young woman in South Florida that represents the very best of our community, someone that not only embodies grace and beauty but someone who represents the diversity of Miami and of Mia at Biscayne itself.
