DWNTWN Miami Concert Series with ¡MAYDAY! & ArtOfficial

The DWNTWN Miami Concert Series is back with another great FREE concert in Bayfront Park, this Friday, March 11th @ 5:30pm.  Newcomer Cris Cab kicks off the concert with a sound all his own that mixes classic rock with reggae and funk.  Next up is ArtOfficial, blending hip hop, jazz and funk—a reflection of its home base of Miami. Finally, MAYDAY, the dynamic alt hip-hop band that has collaborated with Cee-Lo and whose music has been featured in the hit show Entourage, will close out the show.

Cris Cab kicks off this concert.  One of Miami’s newest emerging artists is taking the music scene by storm with his own sound that is a mix of classic rock and reggae with a dose of funk. He is even getting noticed by music heavy hitters like Pitbull and Pharrell Williams.

ArtOfficial shakes things up with a harder edge than Soulive or The Roots, but jazzier, with more depth, and wildly spontaneous. Blending your favorite groups from hip hop’s “golden era,” replacing their sampled beats with jazz musicians and injecting a good dose of future funk into the whole equation.

¡MAYDAY! closes out the night with their hard-hitting, future brand of music posted up somewhere between rock and a hard place, strangely familiar, yet brand new.  Their songs have been featured in ABC Family’s “Lincoln Heights” and HBO’s hit series “Entourage” and they have recently released songs with Lil Wayne, Cee-Lo Green and DJ Craze.   They fit right in, but their sound is different.  Come watch them rock the stage at Bayfront Park.
