Event Description

Giant gasbags will be all over the Kendall-Tamiami Airport (12800 SW 145th Avenue, Miami) this weekend, and we’re not talking about overweight politicians. These are hot air balloons, 35 of them, taking part in the 25th annual Sunrise Community Hot Air Balloon Race, held to benefit the non-profit Sunrise Community in assisting people with disabilities.

There will be a pancake breakfast on Saturday, April 19, when the festivities run from 6 to 9:30 a.m., then music and food on Sunday, April 20, when things get going at 3 p.m. and last until 8 p.m.

Admission is free; donations are accepted.
