TONIGHT: MIA AT BISCAYNE SHOWS THAT A MIAMI LOUNGE VENUE CAN MIX MORE THAN MUSIC AND COCKTAILS

“Tis’ the season to be jolly.” Why not have a wonderful time with friends and loved ones while helping those in need? Mia at Biscayne will hold a holiday pre-Thanksgiving event on Wednesday, November 25, 2009 commencing at 8:00PM. The venue invites all to celebrate and why not? It’s for two amazing causes. For the Pre-Thanksgiving Bash, Mia partnered up with two phenomenal and established organizations that have been doing great work in our city for years, Voices for Children Foundation and Camillus House.
During November, many will be fussing over holiday shopping and festive soirees. This specific week, turkey, family and “Black Friday” will be topics on everyone’s lips. Mia will focus on those less fortunate, those who will have no home to go to, no family to share with and children with no presents to open. The venue has planned a spectacular Pre-Thanksgiving event that will top all others. Guests bringing a new wrapped toy or non-perishable food item such as a canned good will be given complimentary entry into Mia at Biscayne in return for their donation. To make things even more festive, the guest’s first cocktail will be on the house!
Performing at the Mia Pre-Thanksgiving Bash will be special guest DJ Louis Dee in the main room and on the patio will be a popular Miami favorite: Suénalo! To date, Suénalo has won legions of loyal fans and Best Local Latin Rock Band honors from the Miami New Times. The dynamic group has performed at important festivals such as the Latin Funk Festival in Miami and New York, Carnival on the Mile, Fete de la Musique, Calle Ocho, Hollywood Festival of Arts, Ashefest (North Carolina), Wahoo, and Langerado (headlined by Ben Harper, the Black Crowes, the Flaming Lips and Wilco). In addition, they’ve shared the stage with Afrobeat heavyweights Antibalas, Latin-Grammy winners Bacilos, and Latin-Grammy nominees Bossacucanova and Locos Por Juana. Suénalo has released one live album, 2004’s Collages, and one studio album, self-titled Suénalo, released in 2006 to great acclaim. The band is currently working on their new live album.
Located in the heart of Downtown Miami, Mia at Biscayne was created as a reflection of the warmth, and diversity Miami represents. A tantalizing blend of color, mixed layout, bold fixtures, and the highest quality of audio visual capability, the venue is a culmination of four unique concepts intricately meshed to comprise one entertainment complex. Lounge, restaurant, sidewalk café and club, this location was created with the guest in mind. During the holidays, Mia will open its doors also featuring special signature cocktails (just for the season) as well as delicious creations by Executive Chef Gerdy Rodriguez.

For the discerning patron wishing to enjoy live entertainment, or the club enthusiast wanting to dance the night away, there is an event to suit even the most fickle of tastes. Complete with the highest standard of culinary elements, the menu at Mia was created to reflect all that is Miami, its people and picturesque landscape. When guests dine at Mia they will experience “concept dining” at its best.
