“GREEN FASHION” HITS MIAMI THIS WEEK WITH TOP DESIGNERS
AND TOP BEAUTIES FROM ACROSS THE MAP

(Miami, Florida) March 23, 2009- Miami which is no stranger to world recognized events will now have one more to add to the list. Kicking off Fashion Week in Miami Beach will be the first ever "Green Fashion Miami" event. A concept created by Luis Trujillo and Pablo Munoz, the event will feature a wonderful mix designs, all made of sustainable fabrics by the top designers from Latin America and the United States. In a time when "eco" is cool, the duo who created this venture have gone to an extensive length to create a platform that will not only be enjoyed and appreciated, but hopefully start a chain reaction in the industry.

With a schedule of events that end on March 26th, Green Fashion Miami is a unique showcase that includes beauty queens from various pageant circuits including the current "Miss Earth" 2008 Karla Henry. Hosting the inaugural show will be Miss Universe 2003, Amelia Vega who will also be presenting the award of Environmentalist of the Year (in memoriam) to Chico Mendes. Mendes, Brazilian environmental activist and union leader was killed in 1988 while trying to save his beloved Amazon from destruction.

Among the designers participating in this Eco‐Fashion forward event are:

• Lara Miller (USA)

Contestants of Miss Universe, Miss International, Miss World and Miss Earth pageants will be the models for the designers in a magical evening where Creativity, Beauty and Green will be the main characters. Among the beauty queens honoring Miami on-lookers with their presence are:
• Taliana Vargas (Miss Colombia 2008 / 1st runner up Miss Universe 2008)
• Carolina Dementiev (Miss Panamá Universe 2008)
• Maria Teresa Rodriguez (Miss Costa Rica Universe 2008)
• Ada Aimee de la Cruz (Miss World Dominicana 2007 / top 6 Miss World 2007)
• Eliana Quintero (Miss Atlántico International 2009)

Fashion Week Miami Beach celebrates its 12th season later this month! State of the art fashion tents will be built on the sand at 11th Street and Ocean Drive in Lummus Park in Miami Beach which is where this amazing soiree will take place. The venue will feature two unique structures with a large court yard. Green Fashion Miami will kick-off the amazing Funkshion festivities. Celebrities, A-listers and VIPs will gather for a night that will carry a meaning=saving our planet, yes through fashion. A Green Fashion Miami scholarship fund will be awarded through proceeds from ticket sales and sponsorship of this fabulous event with a cause.

Green Fashion Miami hits the runway on March 25th 2009, with eco‐friendly, eco‐fabulous designs in conjunction with Funkshion Music and Fashion. An after party will take place immediately after at the breath-taking Mondrian. Considered one of the most exclusive hotels in the United States, the Mondrian South Beach, will be the hot ticket after-party this week. Models, Designers and Special Guests will be together in the official wrap-up party for this Fashion forward event.
