South Miami is about to get a huge boost as the long awaited opening of Segafredo is here. Located in the heart of the South Miami this Segafredo location plans to compliment the already vibrant atmosphere the area has built up over the last couple of years. The team behind this venture is a dynamic husband and wife duo with a strong history of developing businesses in the South Florida area.

Owners Willy and Minerva Quintana share not only matrimony but a special bond rarely seen in a couple. Willy glows about how he has been married for 5 wonderful years. They have come together to balance each other which has made them not only a romance story only found in books but a cunning and intelligent business team. Like the wonder twins these two have increased their “super powers” in business acumen by coming together. Willy is the easy going every guy who is talkative, energetic with contagious enthusiasm. The beautiful Minerva isn’t as much for words as her husband. She seems to be more measured and calculating. Intelligence can easily be seen behind her soft smile.

This wife, husband one-two punch successfully operated other businesses when they saw the rise and success of the Segafredo on Lincoln Rd., South Beach. They quickly called the Zenati Segafredo group headquarters in 2006 and so it began. Wily and Minerva were inspired by the fact that Segafredo is not a café, nor bar, nor restaurant, nor a night club but a combination of all the above that would have mass public appeal. Willy, being a native South Miamian saw the perfect fit of location and product. South Miami is now a center for shops, restaurants, and bars. Willy and Minerva saw that a venue like Segafredo would tie it all together. Borrowing a line from famous slugger Reggie Jackson, Segafredo is the straw that would stir the South Miami drink. They envision South Miami as a growing maturing area that may one day reach destination status like South Beach.

South Miami has gone through tremendous growth over the last few years. Every night young trendy professionals can be seen shopping, having a cocktail at happy hour or dining in one of the many new eateries in the area. Willy and Minerva saw a long while ago the change that is occurring and feel that they are coming in at the right time. There is a certain buzz about South Miami. Willy feels South Miami is ready to bust open on a national level in the near future. As for now though South Miami remains a hidden treasure enjoyed by the locals.
