Who's your neighbor?

I saw the signs go up at the South East corner of 50 Biscayne for Mia. It seems to be some sort of Restaurant Lounge that is opening up there.

Does anyone have anymore info about this or know when it is scheduled to open up? This will be very convenient for 50 Biscayne and nearby Downtown residents!

I look forward to seeing more new hot spots pop up in Downtown Miami...

I spoke with the bar manager today and he told me they are planning to have an event on the pool deck for the 4th of July, but I doubt they will be done with construction by then.

I was also told that MIA would be serving the 50 Biscayne pool deck on the weekends and that residents would get VIP treatment at the restaurant.

I'm going to stop by tomorrow for a tour and I'll give you guys an update on the progress.

I think this will be Downtown Miami's new hot spot... Can't wait!
I had the pleasure of taking a brief tour of MIA yesterday and I was very impressed! This is going to be a key addition to Downtown Miami nightlife (especially for residents of 50 Biscayne who will get VIP treatment).

"Las Vegas" came to mind from the moment I entered the venue. From giant plasma TVs, projectors, lasers, LCD lighting, to state-of-the-art sound equipment... this place has it all!

They will also be the first location in Miami to have an iBar® and iWall™ designed by Mindstorm. Imagine a surface with flowers you can touch. A surface with useful information about products and services, endlessly entertaining interactive games, water you feel like diving into. All this from just touching and interacting with the surface. Pretty high-tech!

The location is much larger than I thought. It actually spans all the way from the back of the building to the front of 50 Biscayne. It takes up almost half the block! I was told there will be outdoor seating along the whole side of the building and even an outdoor bar.

The inside is comprised of a large dining area, bar, lounge area, and stage for live music on the first floor. The 2nd floor also has its own bar and VIP areas giving you a more private feel. You really have to see it to understand how much detail went into putting this place together.

They are shooting to open their doors by the 4th of July! Stay tuned...
Cool deal on the multi-touch stuff. I develop the user interface and code for multi-touch solutions. Currently working with Hard Rock on a solution for them. I nailed it for the 4th though.

Hope to see you all there. This place is a work of art!
I went into MIA last night and had an appetizer and drink. Today is the actual opening. What an wesome place. Really classy and upscale. Lots of $$$ went into this place. Defenitely a great hangout
I had the pleasure of going to Mia yesterday and all I can say is I was very impressed. They went all out designing the space. It looks like they thought of every little detail. The interactive displays, lights, lasers, glowing countertops, and lighted staircases create an amazing ambiance. The music and videos sounded great and they seem to have the latest in A/V technology.

The food and the service was excellent. I will definitely be back.

I think they are officially opening this friday for anyone who wants to check it out.
More info on this please. Is the official opening on Friday confirmed?
Angel,

It's not an official grand opening. It's labeled a "family & friends sneak preview". I think they are trying to have a soft launch to work out some of the kinks before they promote it heavily.

They have a profile on here. Shoot them a comment.

Great thanks Alex!
The "soft opening" at Mia this Friday was a success! Lot's of 50 Biscayne residents, family, and friends enjoyed what I like to call "an extension of my living room". Seeing the place full of guests and staff, I had to keep reminding myself I was technically still home! LOL

There was a live Latin band playing at some point which was a nice twist, but then they turned over the decks to MUL's very own Joseph Anthony. The lighting and sound was just mind-blowing! They cranked it up just a bit more this time and cleared out the tables on the dance floor which gave it more of a night club feel. The food was also consistently good. Congrats to everyone at Mia who made it all come together.

We should have some events photos up pretty soon...
