 ore Confident Urban cyclist.\n\nBike Miami Rides is the latest communi
 ty event organized by the Mayor's Office to encourage residents and vi
 sitors to ride their bicycles for fun and for transportation.\n\nThis 
 Sunday, July 19th, bring your bike, helmet and a water bottle, to Legi
 on Memorial Park (6559 Biscayne Blvd- behind the NET Office) and learn
  the basics of better cycling before heading out for a 2 hour bicycle 
 ride through Miami's Historic MiMo, Little Haiti, Buena Vista neighbor
 hoods and the Design District.\n\nNo registration is required and the 
 ride is completely FREE.\nYou'll ride with City of Miami Police from t
 heir Bicycle Unit, City Staff and Volunteers. The police will not be '
 escorting' us, but they will show us the right way to share the road a
 nd take the lane as appropriate.\n\nVolunteers will guide you through\
 n- The\"A-B-C Quick Check\": how to check your bicycle's Air, Brakes a
 nd Chain for road-readiness.\n- Helmet Fitting: how to fit your bicycl
 e helmet for optimum safety.\n- The Rules, Rights and Responsibilities
  of Cyclists and Motorists on Florida roadways\n\nAt the end of the ri
 de, participants are invited to join the City of Miami Bicycle Coordin
 ator, members of the City of Miami Bicycle Action Committee, City staf
 f and volunteers for lunch. Destination is to be determined.\n\nThe me
 etup point is the local City of Miami NET Office located at Legion Mem
 orial Park, a beautiful waterfront park in the heart of the Miami Mode
 rn (MiMo) Historic District. There is abundant on-street car and bicyc
 le parking in the area. The group will meet in the shaded area just be
 hind the NET office (6599 Biscayne Blvd).\n\nBike Miami Days (and Ride
 s) is an initiative by Mayor Diaz to promote community, livable street
 s, bicycling and walking. All official events are free, family-friendl
 y and require no registration.\n\nBike Miami Rides require a bicycle.
